Output characteristics of lead-salt diode lasers: review of recent results

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

This paper will discuss some of the significant achievements in the state of the art of lead-salt diode lasers developed at the General Motors Research Laboratories. Major improvements in linewidth, tunability, open- and closed-loop frequency stability, lasing threshold, and operating temperature are described.
