Time-resolved plasma density studies in rare-gas halide laser discharges

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The characteristics of UV-preionized XeCl lasers are strongly controlled by the conditions under which a stable discharge may be operated. These considerations are likely to prove even more important to the operation of blue-green Xe2Cl and XeF transitions where longer discharge times are necessary to compensate for low optical gain.
