Abstract
We have theoretically studied the self-diffraction gyration effect caused by polarization changes during self-diffraction of nonparallel polarized laser beams. New schemes of two-wave phase conjugation are proposed. It has been shown that, for large diffraction-efficiency values, optical hysteresis and bistability may be observed in two-wave self-diffraction using a polarizer.
