Abstract

Photoionization switching of a laser head directly connected to an energy storage line has been tested successfully in the past few years. With a corona preionization device, this mode of operation has been proved to combine both a relatively good efficiency and a high degree of reliability at a low-laser-energy level (26 mj).1
