Abstract

A multikilowatt industrial CO₂ laser was developed. Preliminary calculations and results were presented elsewhere.¹ Here we wish to present basic physical considerations, highlights of the engineering design, and results of long run tests of the latest version of the laser. We will also present results of application tests such as welding speed hardening.
