Abstract

Although the CO2 laser has had extensive application in gynecology and several reports describing its therapeutic effects have appeared in contemporary literature, there are very few publications about the intra-abdominal use of this Instrument. Initial studies employing the CO2 laser for experimental oviductal anastomosis and adhesiolysis were presented in 1979 at the International Society for Laser Surgery Congress in Graz, Austria. The results of animal and human microsurglcal techniques on the uterine tube utilizing the CO2 laser have only recently appeared in current gynecological literature.
