Abstract
Theoretical predictions indicate that 0.35-μm laser light should be efficiently absorbed by dense plasmas. In this paper we present the results of recent experimental measurements of absorption at λ = 0.35 μm for intensities between 1013 and 1015 W/cm2 incident on solid targets and 100- and 500-psec pulse duration.
