Abstract

We report the vibrational excitation spectrum of a supercooled (isolated) polyatomic molecule, tetra-methyldioxetane (TMD), in the region of its fourth CH stretching overtone. We compare spectra obtained by pulsed alexandrite laser excitation of nozzle expanded TMD (seeded and neat) molecular beams with similar excitation spectra and photoacoustic spectra of ambient (room temperature) gas phase samples.
