Flexible Sub-1 ps Ultrafast Laser Exceeding 1 kW of Output Power for High-Throughput Surface Structuring

Abstract

We report on a flexible ultrafast thin-disk laser system delivering sub-1ps pulses at 1kW of average power. To enable high-throughput material processing a fast modulation scheme based on polarization-multiplexing and a burst-mode operation were implemented.
