Pilot-aided Self-phase Modulation Noise Monitoring Based on Artificial Neural Network

Abstract

A novel scheme to monitor self-phase modulation (SPM) noise based on pilot symbols and artificial neural network (ANN) is proposed. A root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 0.36 dB is achieved in highly diverse link configurations.
