Holmium-doped Actively Mode-locked Fiber Laser for Free-Space Optical Communication

Abstract

We add a Fabry-Perot filter in a holmium-doped actively mode-locked fiber laser cavity. The spectral signal-to-noise ratio is increased by 16 dB, and it can be used as a laser source for free-space optical communication.
