Abstract

A six mode asymmetric fiber (AF) for MIMO-free MDM is proposed by inducing two inner-cores in the fiber core. Simulation results show that the mode correlation coefficient between AF and circle core fiber is higher than 95% for all the six modes with effective index differences no less than 3.8×10−4.
