Reconfigurable silicon optical filters using a dual-ring assisted Mach-Zehnder interferometer based 16×16 switch

Abstract

We demonstrate high-order silicon optical filters based on cascaded dual-ring assisted Mach-Zehnder interferometers in a 16×16 switch chip. The filter central wavelength and bandwidth are thermally tunable with the out-of-band rejection ratio >26 dB.
