Distributed Fiber-optic Acoustic Sensor with Sub-nano Strain Resolution Based on Time-gated Digital OFDR

Abstract

Polarization and coherent fading problem in distributed fiber-optic acoustic sensor is well solved in this paper. The worst strain resolution along the whole 10-km sensing fiber approaches 245 and the spatial resolution is 5 m.
