Fabrication of phase-shifted fiber Bragg gratings with a velocity-changed scanning UV laser beam

Abstract

We demonstrate a new method to fabricate phase-shifted FBGs by using a velocity-changed scanning UV laser beam together with a shielded phase mask. Changing the scanning velocity could adjust the grating phase shift.
