Abstract
The OIDA/OSA Workshop on Metrics for Aggregation Networks is the first in the industry to create a roadmap based on quantitative, system-level metrics regarding optical communications. It was the result of a collaboration among the National Science Foundation, CIAN (the Center for Integrated Access Networks), and OIDA/OSA. It will be used for planning of research requirements, standards-setting, funding decisions, and other industry-wide and government-wide efforts.
