Abstract
This report summarizes the output of a workshop co-hosted by OIDA (the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association), CIAN (the Center for Integrated Access Networks), and the US National Science Foundation.
Additional materials not presented at the workshop have also been included in this report in order to clarify or reinforce discussion topics. The workshop was held March 17, 2013, in Anaheim, California. It refined, and expanded on draft metrics reported from an earlier workshop, held a year prior. As before, the resulting roadmap will be used for planning of research requirements, standards-setting, funding decisions, and other industry-wide and government-wide efforts. The effort is part of CIAN’s dialogue with industry to advance its R&D goals.
